Dread's World of Physics

The world of physics is a fascinating and complex one. It encompasses everything from the immense vastness of the universe, to the infinitely tiny bits of matter known as quarks, gluons, and strings. It's the study of how our world works, and where our universe came from. Most people are turned off at the thought of physics because it does involve a LOT of math and mathematical equations. But, one doesn't have to know math to be interested in the basics of physics. I, for one, am NOT good in math. In fact, I don't even like math! I developed a love of physics from reading science fiction. Then, I bought a couple of books on astronomy and cosmology, and I haven't looked back! On this page, I will provide some physics and science links, and you can see for yourself how interesting and fun physics really is!

Famous Physicist Links:

Albert Einstein--This site has a comprehensive biography of one of the greatest physicists of the 20th century.

Stephen Hawking's Universe-- Stephen Hawking has been called the greatest physicist since Einstein. This site has links to articles by other contemporary physicists as well. You'll like this site!

Stephen Hawking--The home page of the amazing Professor Hawking! You'll find his biography, lecture series, and a lot more here!

Cool Physics Links:

All but one of these sites are for folks who are just getting interested in physics, or who have a basic knowledge of it, so there isn't much technical stuff involved.

Physics Central--This site is a portal to a lot of interesting stuff. There are also many profiles of physicists as well.

PhysLink.com--This site concentrates on Astronomy and Physics.

The Official String Theory Web Site--A really cool site set up by a woman physicist specializing in the study of Superstring Theory, and that's what this site is all about! Many physicists hope that String Theory will prove to be a "Theory Of Everything". I am very interested in Strings, and this site is a great place for beginners.

PhysicsWeb--Another great Physics portal.
