MAKING THIS WORLD A BETTER PLACE

For 21 years, I have been an activist for social justice and nonviolent social change. I believe that each of us should try in his or her own way, to work to make the world that we live in a better place for all. Here are some links to some organizations and groups that are doing just that, as well as some links to some governmental agencies. Some of these are organizations that I have worked with.

Disability Rights

ADAPT--ADAPT is a national, grassroots disability rights organization with chapters in 49 states, and sister chapters in six countries. Its headquarters are in Denver, Colorado, where it began 22 years ago. ADAPT is the oldest disability rights group in the country. I have been a member of ADAPT for 19 years, so in the future, you'll see and hear a lot about ADAPT around here. Some of the issues that people with disabilities face that ADAPT addresses are employment, home and community-based care, transportation, public access, and affordable, accessible, integrated housing.
