All About Me
Here, you'll find out a little bit more about me--what I like, and what I don't like.
Some things I like are...
Good music. I like African, Reggae, Celtic, Jazz, Flamenco, Classical, Andean, and New Age music. Most of what I listen to isn't in English. Check out the SoundZone to get a taste of what I'm into.
Chess. I taught myself to play chess a few years ago by reading a book called "Bobby Fischer Teaches Chess". I'm only a novice, but I still love the game!
Good Books. I mostly like Science essays and science fiction, as well as the classics and mystery novels. Take a peep at my BookSpace to see a list of some of my favorite books.
Computer Games. Specifically, strategy games like Civilization, Caeser, SimCity, Master Of Orion, and Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri. I also like computer chess, Solitaire, and Mah Jongg.
Cats. I really love cats! I have 3 cute kitties. Check out Boo's Corner and see my darlings.
Good food. I like food from around the world. I'll try anything at least once. Some unusual foods I've had are Rocky Mountain oysters, alligator meat, goat meat, rabbit, frogs legs, octopus, shark, and escargot.
Beautiful sunrises and sunsets. I love to watch the sun rise. Seeing it makes me thankful that I've lived to see another day, and hopeful for what it may bring. I love gorgeous sunsets as well. They make me thankful that I have lived through the entire day, and hopeful that I'll live to see another.
Now,
some things I don't like...
Loud noise. Simply because it assaults my senses.
Prejudice. It's the underlying reason for most wars and for injustice in general.
TV. It has evolved into almost nothing but sex and violence. And we wonder why our children are turning out the way they are!
Porn. I am rabidly and fanatically against pornography! This filth is exploitive, and is one of the major causes of, and contributors to violence against women and children.
Drunk drivers. They put everyone at risk, including themselves.
Cold weather. My body just can't handle it anymore.
Spam. I simply don't like my Inbox and mailbox filled with trash, filth, and useless clutter!
Some
things I believe...
I believe in a higher power, and that this higher power created the universe and guides and protects us. However, I'm not a religious person.
I believe that each of us should work to make the world a better place for all.
I believe in hope. Without it, one cannot dream.
I believe in love. Without it, we are lost.
I believe in doing the right thing. In the long run, it really will take you far.
I believe that we are not alone. How arrogant of us humans to believe that we are the only intelligent life in this infinitely vast universe!
